I’m kind of annoyed, I went to visit this guy yesterday, but somehow ended up with no pictures (probably hit the bixby button instead of the volume button, just one more way bixby sucks):

He’s no muffler man, but he is a big fiberglass statue, so I thought he might be worth something. Apparently he was also originally an Easter Island statue but got redecorated when the restaurant changed. Oh well, he’s not so far away if I really need to get him (though I’ve exhausted things in that area that don’t require me to pay for parking).

Instead, I’m stupidly considering making a 40 minute detour just to get a real muffler man.

Apparently! And I am having fun. I just wish I could grab some other things en route. The muffler man is at a junkyard/used car dealer, so there’s some small chance I could pick up a car category (I’m doing terrible on those), but it looks like most of the junk yard (and the adjacent auto auction lot) are closed off, so I don’t expect to be able to get in there to see if they have anything beyond what’s on the front lot.

I’m sure you’ll get regular shares - consider it your reward for actually getting out and doing car things that we all should be doing!

Would be cool if you could do a more in-depth post about what you’ve learned over your time in autox: what works, what doesn’t, why everyone should autox their car at least once, etc.
